It's our third day here, very exciting. Of course, your father absolutely has no idea how to relax; the administration these days has been keeping him very busy, and the Supreme Court nomination has made him furiously glued to his Tweeter for the last few hours before bed every night, staring at his silly blue screen. It's very obnoxious. Give him a call sometime, won't you? He's still awful about keeping up with his blood pressure medicine, as if that scare last year wasn't enough. But enough of old pains and bad thoughts...

Paris is as beautiful as ever, Sienna. There's a wonderful metropolitan calm to it. I've tried to bother your father about staying with a mutual friend of mine, do you remember that glass blower from Spain? Miguel and his husband? I've tried to bother your father about spending time with them, but he won't have it, and he's so grumpy these days about his work. I hardly think he knows he's on vacation. And yes, this is me reminding you that Miguel does have a brother, divorced, of course, but very charming. And he's a ceramicist! (You'd have the most wonderful dinner plates, Sie.)

I hope you're doing well, little lamb. How is your job going? We heard about your next project, about the woman's rights and abortion, and we're very proud. I know last we spoke you sounded very dull. Please say you haven't been at all like your father and been remembering to take your medication, and to call Doctor Jakobsen if required... Both me and your father hope you haven't been too alone these days. We know how you are, darling, and how you get. Have you really been thinking about getting a cat? We think that might be a wonderful idea. Your father suggests Hypotenuse for its name. LOL!
